charging Lipos - 06.19.2008, 01:49 PM

I have the hyperion 606i and a 5400mah 3s lipo. The lipo states do not charge it over 12.6 volts. I have the capicity set right and the cell count on the charger yet the charger doesn't kick off at 12.6 volts. Can I let it sit and finish the cycle or am I making a bomb? It's at 12.647 now.

It usually will go over a little that is normal. Just keep an eye on it. Make sure you have the Mah set to what your pack is and 1c charge as well.

It just stopped now. Popping my lipo cherry. I noticed the cells are a bit difference but this was the first charge. Two of them read 4.22 the other one read 4.21. This should clear up in a few charge/balance cycles right?

It should've stopped at 12.6. A fully charged lipo is 4.2 per cell. They should be ok if they go 0.01-0.03 over as they'll come down a bit after you charge them.

I still have lipos that don't have the balancing leads. I also don't balance my packs that do have them all the time. A 0.01 differance though is nothing major at all.

I remember having my first 10,000mAh 3S lipos without the a good charger and when Astro Flight came out with the 109, I jumped on it and still use it. I still have it with the old firmware . You'll love the performance of your lipos compared to NiXX.

Yeah, it's insane. I have it in the new Slash. I'm glad the back bumper is so big. It seems to just ride on it. i'm laughing my ass off at all the power.

That's what most of the brushless system will give you, tons of fun. It is only going to get better from here on. I still have a huge and everytime I drive my RCs.
