battery for rustler? - 06.17.2008, 12:21 PM

i now have most of the bits for my brushless rustler, i just need a battery and charger
i was going to get THIS from maxamps but have been told i can get a better quality pack for the money

so any suggestions on what would be better? i deffinatly want 3S and would like either a similar pack(would prefer having one larger pack) to the one above or two smaller capacity packs that will last around 30 mins each( i will be running a MM and VXL motor)

thanks, sam

IMO.... stay away from maxamps, go for flightpower, neuenergy or polyquest cells. For your ride... any one of these cells rate 3s and 4900+

they are very cheap $60 for a 3S 5000mah 20-30C pack
i looked at the polyquest ones on the same site and they are $185 for a 3S 5000mah 25C
so why are the zippy packs so cheap compared to others?

still interested to see what people think of the truerc 8000mah pack as it would be nice to have just one larger pack
or any others that people would recommend

trakpower has a 3S 25C, 4900mAh with a hard case. already comes with a traxxas connector. These are great cells and will give your car the spunk your looking for.

Available through RC-Monster

True RC packs will give you similar performance to a Maxamps pack but for half the price

TrueRC is the best bang for the buck, but the flightpowers will give you more power. (higher voltage on a higher load)

hopefully what im doing wont push the pack/system too hard, i just want to gear it for around 40+ mph, hopefully wheelies and hopefully it will be able to run the whole pack without overheating(i guess motors and ESCs temps level out during a run not just keep going up?)

also should i get the:
truerc 3S2P 8000mah 10C $110
truerc 3S2P 8000mah 15C $150
will 5C make much difference?($40 difference?)

also both packs are sold out on the truerc website, any idea how long they take to come back instock?
