Finishing up... - 06.28.2008, 11:58 AM

Ive had my eyes set one the idea of using outrunners to power my warhead for awhile but now since Im using an E-Savy tranny I need your help. I found some nice 35/48 size outrunner with 1000kv and was wondering if this would do the trick. I plan to run two of them on the same tranny and all I really need to know is are they a direct mount onto the motor plate? I plan to run it on 5s so with dual MM's... Here is the motor- http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...trunner_1000Kv

There's nothing on that website that talks about mounting.

For a regular mount, 550 style, it uses 2 - M3 screws on 25mm center to center.

Why don't you drop them a line and ask? They can tell ya.

Hey sike I think I got my answer- http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...-48_size_motor

It says 25mm mounting hole distance and that mount works with the motor Im looking at.

I used one of them half a year ago in my HB Lightning 10 Outrunner conversion and i'm 90% sure that it had 25mm mounting holes. It's a nice motor, i had peaks up to 1020W on 4S Lipo but it got warm (70°C) quickly.

I hope the dual setup is enough to power the warthog.

Good news! Just got all my stuff out of storage this morning. I was able to finish up mounting the E-Savy tranny into the warhead and all its electronics. My prototype setup right now is MM ESC, Velineon motor, FP 5s lipo. I thought this setup would be very weak but it does pop wheelies. It'll keep me entertained until my real setup comes sometime next week. Im only running RWD right now due to the fact that I cant find a dogbone as of right now that is the proper length... Ill see if I can get some pics uploaded.
