Question Slash 4x4 Platinum Edition or Jammin SCRT 10? - 01.11.2011, 08:46 PM

Just want some input from people that have run both if possible. Want to bash and may race it. Prolly going to use the new castle sc combo on 2s in it. Sounds like it does well on 2s and priced right. Not a fan of the vxl3 veleneon system but like the platinum upgrades. I have read a bunch on both and know they each need some minor upgrades to race. Just not sure which way to go. There are things I like about both. Thanks

Have and race both. The jammin is a far better race truck but not quite as durable as the slash.

+1
I have and race the Slash, the Jammin's give me a hard time. They do handle better and jump a little better, but they break a lot where as the Slash can't be broken.

I have only raced on clay oval in the past, but bashed for years. The more durable rig may be the ticket then. I can drive well, but racing is a whole different thing. Way more going on.The place I may race it is layed back and lets anything with a sc body run the class. Not a lot of ppl there in the class. My buddy wants me to run my brushless CRT x1 with some buggy wheels because I have a SC body on it. Not doing that though. Just not right IMO.It would be like a tank in a demolition derby. The SC trucks just look cool on a track too. Thanks

His review on the Hyper TT was the same crap. He equiped it with a RX8 2100kv and ran 3s and 4s and said it's perfectly balanced and drove it in a parking lot. Just doesn't make much sense to me or seems like they're fair reviews at all IMO.

Funny you say that, I actually almost made a thread about that guy (Squirrelrod on Youtube for those who didn't watch the vid) asking the members here what they think of him.

I don't doubt the guy has good intentions, but a lot of his stuff is rambling like he just makes it up as he goes. Lots of stuff coming out of his mouth without anything really being said, not much substance or utility there IMO. And plenty of stuff that doesn't make any sense at all. Yet so many people (dare I say noobs?) think he is the ultimate, end all, be all RC master.

Rnemhrd - Where you planning on racing? Once this weather breaks we gotta get together for a bash session again. Got a Savage Flux now. As for the sidewinder sct combo, not sure how well the esc will hold up in a 4x4 SCT, I'm sure it'll be ok though its made by Castle, but I know it's awesome in a 2WD SC10. Bought my combo at Walt's when they had their 20% off Secret Santa sale, but their everyday price is still only $100, actually cheaper than Tower

A friend races at Redneck RC. Prolly why they have the run what you brung as long as it has the right body thing going for the SC class. I guess they have a outside oval and offroad track. I have never been there but laid back works for me. I actually just monoblocked my E Maxx but havent run it yet. That truck is done!!! Haven't run the Jammin since you saw it.
