I was thinking about a new chassis design. I want to mount a center diff on my chassis. I was thinking of making a new chassis for this. If I take a 3-4 mm sheet of aluminum. Make a bottom plate to run from back to front. Skids made in. Make a top plate 2-3 mm aluminum to connect where the top plates hook to the bulk heads. Have the center diff inbetween the two. Do you think it would be strong enough? What about weight as well?
Peace!

You could always just do it truggy style and get rid of the skid plates altogether, there was a chassis kit for the T Maxx that I remember seeing a few years ago that they did that to.
Providing you have access to a CNC milling machine and are pretty decent with CAD software, you could do a good job. Providing you use decent quality material and you use some good chassis braces, it should be strong enough.
I've seen his flame Jugg's before, just plain nuts. The little gif animation in the middle of the page is also his avatar here, just can't remember what his name is.
What your looking for is a jt racing chassis. It has the lower chassis & skids as one peice. It also has the top plate, and uses a center diff instead of tranny. It uses the fr & rr clip of a maxx for suspenion. I belive it was designed for a ofne diff from the monster pirate.

his forum name is candyman, can't remember his actual name....
Papa i forgot about that one. The only draw back to using that chassy is you have to have VBS. If he gets the JT chassy, which theUE & DACE chassy is molded after he wont have to get the VBS. He can save alot of COINS:L: .
The chassis itself represents only a small portion of the Kit cost. The big Dollars are for the BEAUTIFUL VBS. If he picked up a extra front and rear skid he could switch the whole suspension assemblies onto a Gmaxx chassis or something else if he desired. The chassis peices top and bottom are available individualy and they might work with his existing F/R assemblies with minor mods?
Maxx dude You are talking about ryan coombies. I emailed him today. I don't want the motor and diff to be that high in the air. I know what I want just not sure on getting it there. I have the gmaxx chassis now. Made the bottom front skid for it with the top piece to. I don't have acess to a cnc. I thought about using the emachine shop. I want the chassis to be about as long as the one I have now. It is 60mm longer than a gmaxx. I want something like the duece but a little different. Any one has a better pics of the duece. I like to see the underside and braces. Thanks everyone.
Peace!
