New E-Revo and A123's - 07.13.2008, 11:25 PM

I thought I would post this here, as I know someone will ask about it. I stopped by the LHS today, and they opened up their one and only E-Revo for me to look at. I brought in my 2S2P A123 pack (6.6V, 4600maH) to check the fit. Lengthwise they were perfectly fine, height wise it was snug, but it did fit. But it left about 1/2" of the battery sticking out the side. So for all those that want to use A123's, they will go into the compartment, but you'll need some gorilla straps or something to hold them in place.

Also, I ran my homegrown E-Revo with the HV-4.5 in it for the first time with my A123's - and was very happy with the results. I was a little concerned about being under powered, but for my needs, they were perfect. They had about as much punch as my IB4200 six packs did, maybe a little more. Run time was decent - about 15-20 minutes of bashing. I realize that they wont give me what you guys with the 8K lipos get, but for my needs......nice!

Losi 8T 1.0, Savage Flux - XL style, LST XXL, Muggy, 3.3 E-Revo Conversion and sitting outside 425hp, 831 Tq Dodge Ram Turbo Diesel. It SMOKES
