808 buggy with 4s or 5s - 07.27.2008, 08:52 PM

808 buggy with NEU 1512/1.5yf and MM and 20 tooth pinion
ive been running 4s 3700 pack with great sucess except battery is getting hot at 130 degrees.(no vent holes in body)

i tried 5s and my MM is not complaining at all. so.....5s with a 16T pinion? motor RPM ok?

will battery run cooler? using apache 4s and 5s 20C packs anyrc.com ( from mike)

I have found that 3700 packs are not enough for my buggy on 4s, need closer to 5000 at 4s. A 3700 5s would be better than the 4s, geared for the same speed. Motor rpm should be fine on 5s with that motor.

I agree with bdebde, upper 4000s are minimum for usage with 4s. My buggy is running 4s 4800mah 20C on a 1512 2.5D/F geared for about 45mph.

My two cents..

I've got two 808 one on 4s and one on 5s, 4s is great for the track, 5s is too much but is great for the park or smoking Nitro's..

Also.. 4s you want at least 4000mAH if not 4500 -5000, I have the 5s 3700 and get around 20 minutes out of it, its a great $140 lipo..

Either way you cant really go wrong with more power, just learn better throttle control..

Nothing!.. Hahahahaaa..
