0610i Net/DUO Ques - 07.24.2008, 08:54 PM

I'm using mine 0610i for 1st time after v1.6 firmware upgrade and read the manual addendum that came with 1.6. Hyp makes point that connecting batt in right sequence is important to safeguard something internal to these chargers - ie main pack +/- wires (A) then connect balance conn (B), then reverse B-A to disconnect.

I saw a decent spark when I connected the main pack wires. I had the charger turned off - I usually connect everything, then turn charger on and select routine or setup new one. I usually discon batt while charger is still on though.

The addendum never says one way or the other. Do you turn the charger on and then make A-B connections, OR leave charger off, do A-B then turn it on??

You think it makes any diff??

I always connect my batteries with the charger on. Dunno if it makes any difference.

I always connect everything then turn on the charger. Then turn off charger and disconnect.

Allow me to ask a different question about v1.6 duo.
They said the voltage display is more accurate with the v1.6 firmware than before.
However, my duo seems to show higher peak voltage than before with v1.5.
The peak voltage display showed even ~4.3v/cell.
How could this happen? Is it normal?

Well, I'm guessing that it prob doesn't make any difference if charger is on or off when you plug batt in or unplug batt when its charged. I'm just going to keep doing it like I've been doing it.

That seems strange, I had mine do that on the v1.0 firmware, since then I've only seen mine get up to 4.215 though, never even a millivolt higher.

Maybe email hyperion and ask them? I think 4.3 is within spec though.
