Anyone interested in some nitro RC's - 07.29.2008, 05:19 PM

I got them to test the nitro waters out and learn more about that side of the hobby. I'm done now and really enjoy the electric side more. I want to get some of my $ back so they will be good buys for someone but not free. Thought I would let you all know about them before I list them on ebay. I'm still getting them ready, gathering the spare parts, trying to remember what all the upgrades that were done, and still need to clean that nitro afterburn off them. This is what will be going out the door.

With all these I used my Spektrum so I will be keeping the receivers and installing the stock receiver and transmitters. Except the Kyosho will have to see what I got to install in that one. I was also thinking of adding a gallon of fuel with each one (stocked up when I heard the prices was going up) but I'm not sure what it would take to ship the fuel.

I've done clutch upgrades to atleast two of these. I think the jato and kyosho. Will have to check them when I get home.

Jato 3.3
This was the 2.5 and I just got the 3.3 motor through the upgrade program. Couldn't keep the 2.5 tuned. This is a raped ape for sure. Will have to check which servos
I installed but they are upgrades. Steering upgrades to eliminate the slop. The Aluminum Revo shocks (not the Titanium). Some 30 series rims with Dirt Hawgs. RPM arms, Wing and mount, wheelie bar. Then a bunch of misc spare parts almost enough to make another.

Kyosho Inferno US Sport .28
Upgraded the servos. Steering has the HSC-5998TG and throttle has a HS-5945. The original motor broke a rod. Side note. Thank God! I have never in my life been so fruststated with anything. I mean beat red raging bull total pissed off frustrated. That engine was a total pia to get started and keep tuned. Once it was tuned don't even look at the tuning screwdrive. As a bonus the old engine is included in this sell.
I installed an Axial 28spec motor in it. Much, much better. THe axials pulll start was a weak point. I installed a 90 degree Tiger drive on it and also have a straight tiger drive attachment for it. Preference as to where you want to shove the shaft into the RC. From the side or...... from the rear. Couple spare parts for it and some 23mm adapters. One upgrade that would make a big difference would be some better big bore shocks.

Duratrax Raze ST truggy .28
This was a great truggy to start out with on the nitro side. I know duratrax hasn't the greatest rep (warhead) with there RC. This one is tough and easy. The engine has plenty of power and was easy to start and tune. Pretty forgiving when you take the tuning screw driver to it. It has the stock rotor start. The only upgrade I remember doing on this was the steering servo. Installed the HSC-5998TG for the steering. I have a ton of spare parts for this one. This could use some better big bore shocks also.

I got a better list of spare parts and stuff at home iuncluding some pictures I'll try to add later tonight. Slow day at work so posting from here.

I compiled some info on the spare parts and got some pics if anyones interested. Worked hard know you all have been waiting for the info.

Just so you know if you pm me no else will know. I will not say a word to anyone that you were even thinking about looking at a nitro..... It's okay. Really.

Is there such a thing as silent peer pressure on a forum?

Just poking some fun at anyone that's listening or reading.

I know you guys wouldn't spend any hard earned money on nitros. Now if these were ones that no one has ever tried to convert before. That would be a different chapter in history.

It good to hear someone else know what the engine has put me through. Although I wouldn't wish that frustration on my worst enemy. Well, I take that back yeah I would. I'm glad the rod broke cuz I hard a hard time giving up on it. Thought it was jsut cuz I was a newb to nitro. More I researched it more I found out I wasn't alone. When it ran man it ran great with lots of power. But when it didn't... well you know about the other side also. Still got all the pieces in a box. If you want whats remaining of it to smash with a hammer, take a torch to it, or run it over. I be happy to help you get some payback. I'd give it to you and ship it for free.

Jato is gone. Will be keeping the Kyosho.

If you guys run into anybody that might be wanting to get into the hobby. The Duratrax Truggy is a great starter. It is as RTR as you can get. Put a package together for it that has everything needed. I listed it on ebay with everything that goes with it. I might be biased but looks like a good deal to me.

As TDC57 might put it....
For my family members here at RCM the price can be worked over a bit.
