Which 5s would you buy? - 08.11.2008, 05:27 PM

Well I'm torn between these two packs
A Zippy 25C 5s 4800mah R cells or a
PolyQuest 25C 5s 3700mah.

I like the PQ for the weight and proven Enerland cells, but at less than half the cost the Zippy is lookin pretty good too.

Either pack would do double duty in my Inferno 777 8xl MM or my ST-RR Medusa 036-060-1600 MMM.

Which would you guy's choose?

Thanks in advance

Well, since the Zippy is only about $100, you won't be out too much if it doesn't work out. And if it does, you've saved a bunch of cash.

Go with the zippys. It is real hard for me to justify buying the name brand stuff after using the zippys. I run the 5s 4000 packs (zippy-h) and love them.

Do you have an R or H Zippy? The R packs are 170mm long, which is kinda limiting...

Thanks for pointing out the 170mm BrianG,I've been looking at the sizes of packs and that
slipped past me.

I have a battery tray on the way from Mike that I ordered to fit my PQ pack 168x48. I'll have to see if 170 is even possible(Dremel)

Does any one know if that 170mm on the Zippy is correct or if it is rounded up from 168mm?

aparently they should fit... someone posted dimensions. its only 170 where the wires come out, the rest is VERY close to PQ packs (my thinking is thes cells just missed out on the quality or capacity but are still great and rebundled, just my theory... thinking of trying them!

btw, the PQ pack (once you sign in, the 25C 6000 5s is only 170 or so, i cant see how the 3700 wouldnt be cheaper...) is pretty close in price... ive decided just to go with namebrand stuff, just this once :) (until the zippys have more time to be tested :))

Do like i did a, although you might not want to spend this much.

I got two Zippy 5s 4000mah to use for heats and one PQ 5s 4350mah for longer finals.
The Zippys you get 16 - 17 mins no probs and the PQ 20 mins no prob .

I also went with these packs because i didn't want to go over 600 grams in my buggy.

Another note on the Zippys , even though they are 4000 mah i'm getting about 4300 mah in them after charging

hey, they the -r or -H?

are PQ really worth the double price tag? now that these cheaper zippy cells are out and about, is it nessary to buy the name brand?

the 4000mah zippy-h with 3 month warranty is the same price ($3 difference) to the 25c Zippy r 4800mah...

the thing is, the dimensions of the zippy-h are smaller. (lengthways)

i heard choose -r and -k only?

btw, will the 1512 2D smooth run well on 5s geared down or would i be better to buy a 5000 4s pack and gear up? thanks
sorry for the random question.

I am an all Flight Power guy but splurged on some True RC packs from a member and well i have to say it is not a FP but well worth the money. 100 for a 4s, come that is cheap. So if i have the money FP all the way but if i need something quick and cheap True RC it is.
