Back From The Dead - 10.25.2005, 10:58 AM

As usual when school starts I instantly phase out of the forums, although my xxx-t Lehner 4200 combo is still running strong as usual. JUst wanted to drop by and say hi, wondering what is the new 'it' truck and setup. I'm also thinking of getting into on-road, and wondering what I should get for strictly street use (asphalt) neighborhood style. I had a 4-tec a while back:L: but that wasn't too great. I was thinking a tc4, probably the hopped up version. Thanks for your input.

TC4 is great although the Xrays are proper smart too, if not better.

Xray has very little part support in the US though, at least that's how it is in my area. A friend at the LHS had a M18 or whatever the 1/18 Xray car was, and he had to sell it because there were absolutely no parts for it out here.

true, tc4 is nice but pro 4 is a better value. Problem is, durability might be a question because you'll need a tough onroad to take teh abuse of a bl system

I like the look of the pro-4 and tc4, I'm not sure which is more durable though. I can rebuild and mess with the drivetrain, but i'd like it to be pretty beefy. The open chassis on both scare me though. With the tc4 i could get the team version, but im likely to go ballistic and upgrade the hell out of it anyways. I think I want shaft drive for sure, even though it isn't necessarly better. Glad to be back, looking to make a purchase to slowly build over the winter and maybe race. Up here in minnesota its already pretty cold.

The Pro 4 is alright but have you seen the older version? Pro 3?

Looks alot better, got to love centered batteries. Dead cheap now too.

Pro4 is out due to other factors. I've narrowed it down to a tc3/tc4 or a xxx-s G+. The old G+ kits are way discounted, so i figured its worth a look. Seems like it'd fair well, but not sure about brushless. The drivetrain is all closed up though

I have a pro3. I pulled it out of the closet because of the new Losi TC

Work because i gotta, play because i wanna

People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise
