Do the different styles of wings actually make that much of difference or are the more for looks? I am a noob, raced me first race this weekend and destroyed most of the wing so I was going to replace and wondered if it they actually work differently...
They help in keeping the truck level in the air (my experience). It's also a good place for a marshall to grab your truck.

I don't think he's asking if they work . . . I think he's asking for our opinions on whether or not the different styles make much of a difference. Like the Pro-Line high downforce or the regular. Right?
My experience is that they don't make a huge difference in performance unless you change to a high speed true 1/8 scale track. When you're running around 30mph average on a track I don't think there's too much difference from one wing to the next. But I don't know for sure.
they make diference even on indoor 1/18 racing. for high speed track I use oversize 1/10 wing. it makes a difference. of course it always changes how car behaves while in air.
for mugen truggy i got 3 different wings (mugen, jconcepts and Himoto ) and i can feel the truck behaving diffrently when switching between low and high downforce
the biggest difference it makes on buggy
