It depends. The ICE is a billion times better for Lipo and 1-10NiMh/NiCd cells, but the Triton can do up to 24 NiMh/NiCd cells.
The ICE has so many more features, and for Lipo it can charge up to 8amps (the Triton can only do up to 2.5amps for Lipo).

REallY? i thought triton was better with lipo! with trition, would i be able to charge 2 packs at the same time (nimh)? Is 2.5amps plenty for lipo? 8amps seems kinda scary...BOOM!

The triton can handle 24 cells so you can charge up to two 12 cell packs (connected in series) at the same time.

Or 4 6cell packs. Charge with Lipos is a maximum of 1C, where C equals the capacity in amp-hours (Ah, not mAh). So, a 4000mah pack can be charged at a max of 4amps. Some Lipo cells (like Kokam 3200mah) can be charged at higher rates. So, the charge rate versus charge time depends upon the size of the pack.

can you UNDERCHARGE lipo packs? how long does it take to charge lipos... I'll most likely run 12-14 cells on my revo. I dont feel like buying to many batts!

You can overdischarge Lipos. You don't have to charge them completely if you don't want to. Charge time depends on charge rate. Usually, a complete charge is 1:15 hours - 1:30 hours.

Probably more like 2:15. On an ICE it will take 1:15-1:30.

ICE is better with Lipos.
Triton is better with Nimhs/Nicads.
I have the Triton and you couldn't get a better Nimh charger, do 14 cells in 50minutes. :)
Are you sure the Triton can only charge at 2.5 for Lipos? I think your wrong.

Yes, I am sure. I have read numerous threads on RC-Groups (one of the top battery discussion forums) that the Triton can only charge at up to 2.5amps for Lipo. Nick, please at least have something to back up your statement.

Yup, my mistake. :)
Anyway this is where I got my idea from:
Quote:

Fast Charge Current: 0.1 -5.0A linear
|
I thought linear charge option was for Lipos. That it charged Nimhs by pulse? Does it charge in pulse? If so how do I change to linear?
Thanks.
