Angry replacement hydra 240 hv dead!! - 08.27.2008, 01:13 AM

I just got a new boat 10 days ago with a brand new hydra 240 hv included with it and when I tried calibrating and programing the thing it would not work at all dead so I sent it back to my dealer. As it turned out finedesign got a bad batch of dud controls and sent them back to castle for replacement (which cost me a month of my short summer) and he got back good working controls then sent me one of those good ones which I just received an hour ago in the mail... well I calibrated it and guess what? it worked the motor actually spun WOW I was so happy I almost cried (the way miss america does when she wins pagent) but before I could squeeze out one tear of joy I decided to plug her in just to make sure it wasnt a dream and guess what it died!! Nothing not even a twitch. So here we go again back to the dealer...this time for a full refund (no exeptions) I'm buying an mgm 160.24 marine from mike first thing in the morning!

Is it just me or is this like your 10th post on this saying pretty much the same thing?

Agreed.

Perhaps keeping one thread on the same topic would be a good idea?

There's nothing wrong with voicing your opinion, but it would be nice to keep it all in one thread, even if it means digging up one thats a week or two old. (IMO)

I thought this was like the land of the free or something to that effect...anyway no it is not the same control its the replacement just as described in the post that everyone thinks is a duplicate. I called cris and told him the esc was dead and he sent me a new one the same day which I received 6 days later and the new one is dead to which means that patricks excuse is untrue. I would go into more detail but its no use the administrators are on to me and are deleting my posts. If anyone needs to lash out at me for my horrible cruel posts...email me at jackmehoff@acsalaska.net

This one was my second hydra...there wont be a third. Anyway I can't bite my tongue on this issue just to please castle or their fans. I'm going to try and cancel my membership to this forum altogether cause I dont want to piss mike off and put our freindship in jeopardy (that would ruin this hobby for me).

Metalman I can't pm you for some reason when I try the page wont load (probably for the best) and I cant email you either. I would be happy to discuss your judgment of me before I cancel my membership to your forum.

Interesting how sometimes these posts go sideways. I think we can all feel your frustration, Wes (coolrunnings), and I wouldn't want to lose contact with you, either - I rather enjoy our chats! I also appreciate that you don't want to get too crazy out of respect and the truth is, these forums are supposed to be "flame free" as much as possible, though I understand some passionate complaints in certain situations.

I don't think anyone wants to stifle your opinion here, but the mods are doing their job by trying to keep excessively negative posts off these forums(which is in fact all about judgement, so what may seem mild to you may appear or come off as a "flame" rather than a passionate complaint). This shouldn't become personal at any time (knowing you and Travis, I truly believe you would get along very well and would both have lots of respect for each other - both are intelligent and softspoken hobbyists with very similar personalities and interests). :)

Thanks mike, I was feeling crudy about this hydra problem I'm ok now...I just needed to chill and watch some star trek. I just got a full refund for the esc and have nothing more to cry about. I understand why the forum should be kept civilized. Anyway thanks for the response and dont worry everythings cool.

Just a thought, but maybe finedesign wasn't being totally honest and didn't send you a truly new controller. I have often heard of dishonest dealings from there in the past so just a thought. I tried to do business with them before but did not care for the attitude when I asked questions so I am suspect of them based on that as well.

I would have suggested that you contact US, and not the dealer who sold you the product (as it says in our warranty info.)

We don't do warranty work through dealers.

And you probably wouldn't have had to wait at all if you had contacted us directly, and would have had many fewer frustrations. It's nearly impossible to have good customer support when a dealer gets in the middle.
