RC Supsension!!!! :( -
10.22.2005, 04:46 PM
I am suspended from RC due to lower then average grade i've got in the school year so far. It has NOTHING to do with fact that i have 3 more honor/ap classes then last year! lol. Well, sadly, i wont be able to buy any rc stuff (except to replace broken parts). I can sell, maybe trade (she nver mentioned anythign about it). The Good thing is, when i sell my rc stuff on ebay, it goes to the paypal account. So she has NO clue if i buy any RC stuff. Hiding it will be another story! Anythign like this happen to u guys or when u were kids? I'm in the procces of negioting with my parents.... Hopefull this embargo will be lifted!

Yeah nbaczn, you should invest more time in school! you're online, day in day out hunting for the BL setup.. :p
serious, it's not that bad is it?
can't you get something from it? promise her, you are going to get straight A's for the small price of a 9920??

LOL. My mom has threatened to take away my rc cars before. It never works. But this isn't because of my grades. In fact, she doesn't seem to be so happy that my average GPA is a 4.18 in all of the highest classes I can get into! Or even that I am getting pretty good grades right now in all honors and AP classes, alongside the 2 sports I am doing!
Anyways, I hope that you can negotiate with your parents a lot better than I can with mine. My mom seems to never change her mind on anything, but I hope yours isn't like that!

Yes MetalMan comes across as much older, i think because he's very knowledgeable.you get an impression of people when you talk on the forum,Mike looks nothing like i imagined,we went through that one though.lol.
Sorry to hear that Nbcazn, maybe your slight 9920 obsession had some impact on your grades aswell though.

LOL! I'm only 16. I don't actually have that much BL stuff. I only have 3 Feigao motors and 2 controllers (MGM 120amp in Czech Republic, and 9918 over with Mike, both needing repair), and I have acquired this stuff over the past year.
When one spends almost a year and a half researching something (BL and Lipo in my case), they tend to have a rather decent amount of knowledge on that subject.

I kind of thought you was older to metal man. Not sure why. I think it goes back to what gustav said. At least your not over the hill like me. :D I understand to about the research.
I agree with the rest nbcmaster. Stopping spending so much time on the puter in forums and it will be easier to pass with high grades. Even though we MAY miss you. :D
Peace!

You tell that when you fail graduation.
Sorry to say but there are better thing's to do with your spare time then spending so much time on forum's, and by that I mean school first. If I got a son which did the same, i'd stop him from doing so till he get's better grade's. Your parent's only want you to get better grade's, if you get them, there is no problem.
I really sound like my parent's now, but understand one thing, if they didn't put a time clock on internet, i'd never graduated from high school. Think about it.

Get a education. Get a better job. Make more money. Get the better rc stuff and more of it. That is why it is important. RC is great. I love it and the group of people around here. If you don't get the education for a good job. You will struggle to make ends meat and won't have the money to spend on rc. Do you want RC now or many years to come?
Peace!

It is important to stop and think about how much time you spend on RC and on forums etc...I found it difficult to prise myself away from the garage and from the various RC forums when it came to study for my A-levels...when peeps say R/C is addictive, they ain't kidding.
I too thought you were much older, MetalMan! I lurk quite a lot here (I don't post much as I don't think I really qualify to as I still don't have any BL kit) but your posts definitely sound mature beyond your years. I know what you mean about the research too, I always find myself doing heaps of research on parts, trucks etc, sometimes even if I'm not going to buy them. :)
