which one are you gonna run? lehner or feigao? the feigao would probably require a larger pinion than the lehner. if i am not mistaken those kits lock the transmission into 1st gear. somewhere on here there is a post that tells you how to lock it into second with some epoxy which would allow you to eliminate the brake servo.

I don't know alot about savage. The conversion kit come with a single speed which locks it into first gear. I don't know about the size of pinion but the 7xl will take a bigger pinion than the xl 2800.

i think it locks it into it making no second gear. i would lock it into second with some epoxy.

YOu can use the auto shift 2 speed. will need the brake servo hooked up with esc with a y connector. If you want reverse you can do that as well.

Boys i have seen I little have inasmuch as in many setup the 3200 are used kokam, but not is a little like capacity, inasmuch as the lipo they have currents of discharge of 15/20c (3200x15=48 AMP)non are little for a motor type feigao 7xl?

Hi,

I have experience with this same kit with the exception that I bought it from the US. As mentioned, it locks the truck in 1st gear. The kit comes with a 18T pinion. If you install the full kit, there is no need to retain the mechanical brake (can't anyway as the battery will interfere with the brake control linkage) as the special shaft replaces the one way device in the gear box.

I have run the truck with the conversion kit installed with a feigao 7XL & BK 9920 esc & it worked fine. The batteries used were Kokam 20C 3200mah 5S lipo.

3200x20c=64 amp?I believed at least of the 6000 for these absorptions 90/100 amp, an other thing 5s in total(18.5 volts)? Thanks

hi,

while I am no expert, i believe 64A contiuous & even higher current during surge is sufficient to make the truck wheelie if the gearing is right. i think the spec says the 7xl can draw more than 90A max. however, that does not mean it needs to draw that much current all the time to function properly. guys, feel free to correct me if i am uttering rubbish.

regards,
joe ling

ps: sorry for the poor punctuation. i am using my touch screen on my audio pc upstairs in my listening room to do the typing

Hello Viruss!

That kit from monsters-paradise is to lock it in 1st speed.

it's not too easy to lock it in 2nd, because that gear needs some extra holes to lock.

You could use the 2 speed transmission. just get a heavy duty 2nd speed and you should be fine.

The diagram that pocono put up doesn't make it look that hard, but that'd put it in 2nd, right? Would it be better to have it locked in 1st or 2nd though?
