New conversion sets Option Team by Fioroni on the way? - 09.29.2008, 04:08 PM

I was at a very serious testrun of a prototype brushless buggy at our track (Mach-One Helmond, the netherlands). It was a prototype X1X-cr brushless build up by Fioroni Italy (well known 1:8 nitro buggy and truggy tuner Italy who build up the buggies that wonn the world in 2004 and 2006, last one was the MP777 of Pavidis).

Motor (neu 1512) in front, MGM-compro controller placed at the rear, mechanical brakes and a very compact type of lipo packs I have never seen before. Yellow coloured with Option Team labels. Layout was very clean, completely different compared to setups I have seen so far.

The drivers (close relation to and often testing prototype OT-parts for Fiorini) told that the small packs where 6s 4000 mAh. Estimated size ca 2/3 of normal packs as I know them..... Also that Fiorini will introduce brushless conversion sets in november for XB808, 8ight (flex OT chassis based), 8igth-T, RC8, RC8T, D8, X1X-CR and MBX6.

My impression: real serious stuff. Gave me the same feeling as I first saw the RC8 flying at our track last year (althoug changed from XB8tq to a 8igth and till now very happy with that). Need to have..... Extreme accelaration and fast, great at the jumps.

Next to a 8ight (nitro) for competition, I have a 8ight-T brushless (rc-Monster motormount, Tekno Neu 1515/2.5D/F, 5s, MGM-z-series 160A controller). Like it so far, run it with brakes on ESC but plan to change this to mechanical brakes.

Will take my camera next week to the track.
