Ok, so I have decided to make some thing custom. So far I have decided on a flat chassis (truggy like) to Keep the cg low. Most likely going to use a new emaxx tranny, as it will offer good reduction and I have a few...

Now, I am wondering what front and rear bulks and arms to use. I would like 1/8 scale diffs, with buggy ratios. So I am thinking savage x or muggy...

I would almost prefer the muggy setup, as I would like to use the big losi shocks. I know that if you use short towers on a savage that the losi shocks will fit. Plus the muggy bulks already fit a flat chassis, so they should work better for my uses.

And from what I can tell the losi diff setup in my aftershock is better than the savage, due to the al cases, and superior design. Plus the diffs are easy to get to.

I will utilize some sort of parallel vertical chassis braces. Not too sure what they will look like, or how I will arrange the tranny.

Steering will be a dual bell crank setup, simple and strong. I will most likely mount the servo to the vertical braces, like the bpp lightning.

Still thinking, and I have not started anything yet...

If I use an emaxx tranny I can throw in one of my modded 1/8 diff setups. However I may make a slipperential like device for this. I would do a center diff setup like a buggy or truggy, but I need more reduction than the muggy diffs (11/45) and a smaller pinion can provide. I plan to run a finned neu, and would like to have some clearance. I may stick with the emaxx tranny as it has everything inside so it keeps the gears clean, and I can grease them...

I would like to have a bpp lsp, but the lsp suspension is a bit outdated, and I would like something a bit more bash worthy! Still working on the chassis design, and I plan to use a very different battery retention method.

you could if you wanted to get the fastlane 1/8th diffs with buggy gears and use revo bulks and do your own custom inboard setup. use some maxx shocks or somthing from a truggy and have the top shock mount slide adjustable on the chassis so you could set it so it compressed the shock halfway so you would have a good amount of down travel while still keeping ride hight at a truggy/buggy stance

it sounds like it would work. and it would be a pretty nifty cross breed. a med-heavy spring with maybe like 50 or 60 wt oil to control the downtravel rate when in the air but still give good bottoming resistance and a nice ride. i like the supesion firm so it goes where i point it and has the least amount of roll. i just have to take jumps really diffrent because with stiff springs when it preloads it gives a good amount pop of the jump.

Well....... I am still amassing funds to by the lathe/mill. Should have it all sold by the end of the month. I have decided to base this on muggy/lst parts for suspension, so I need to score one of those for a good price. Pics will come eventually. I need to make some drawings of the chassis design, and it will be a bit different than anything I have seen...
