Mamba max / dx3r problem - 03.13.2009, 02:52 PM

hey guys im running a b44 with dx3r and mamba max 7700 combo on trakpower 4800 2s saddle packs. i ran the car for 5 minutes testing it and it shut off, then turned back on. i drove it for another 2 minutes and it shut off again and wont even light up anymore. the esc is fine as it calibrates with my computer and all the leds work, the lipos are fine as they are perfectly balanced and in working order, i checked all the connections and they are fine! im starting to think its the sr3100 receiver that is the problem but if i use an external pack it starts right up.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Even LDO linear regulators need at least 0.5 above their rating to work right, and 2s lipo or 6 NiMH cells can get down to ~6v, which would't work well. So, they use 5v and problem solved. However, being linear, efficiency is poor at anything above 2s/6cells and should use an external switching BEC to avoid thermalling the ESC BEC...

Did you pull the positive wire out of the ESC plug?
