Traxxas Summit Motor (775) and a Mamba max esc - 10.30.2008, 12:05 AM

I plan to have a summit and a brushless E-revo in the next year, I want the summit to be strictly a basher. My origional plan was to put my 2250/10t lehner w/quark 125 esc in on 4 to 5s lipo, but the more i think (bad thing)The more i want just a basher without being nasty. I want to know if the Mamba max esc in brushed mode with reverse can handle the 775 motor. I want to run 4s and maybe an occasional 5s (not too much though) for fun, I know i will need a External BEC and Koolflight will be my choice. Would there be a problem with the mamba max handling the 775? I know it wouldn't be a problem in foreward only mode (the most powerful mode for brushed). Thanks for any input

wouldn't be a problem, the titan may get hot on 5s but they're replaceable!

Get a dewalt 820 motor... Much better than the 775 motors. More powerful than a pair of titan 550 motors.

The 18v drills use the 820 motor.

^^ Those are sweet motors. Carbon brushes = less friction.

Will this motor bolt to the stock e-Revo/summit motoplate? I am wanting a durable strong motor for bashing without insane, drivetrain busting power

The bolt pattern is not the same as a ormal 550 motor... You would need a special motor mount.

The stock e-revo motor mount should work as the silver piece has several different mounting hole spacings. Obviously this was done in anticipation of the summit 775 motor.

I was looking at the dewalt motors to put in my son powerwheels. What is the shaft diameter on the dewalt motor?

Thanks for the response guy's, I was just wondering. Would the 820 have the same bolt pattern as the 775? I'd hate to have to redrill just to upgrade a brushed motor. Would go brushless if i had to do that

the dewalt motors are 5mm shaft. Their mounting holes are further apart than 750/775 motors. I use(d) the dewalt motors, they are very powerful, I peaked at 1900 watts on 6s 123 cells.

Thanks LD. I'll get a motor and see how it will fit into the powerwheel.

Keep in mind that dewalt 18v volt motors aren't really stronger than their fellow 14.4v and 12v motors which are also 820 size motors. If you want to run those motors on 4-5s i would consider the 14.4v.
