Axial AX10 or Modded WK - 11.04.2008, 12:09 AM

I have a WK that I want to convert to a rock crawler. There is a 50 dollar kit I can buy from HPI. Question is, should I do this or just get an AX10. I would like to get into rock crawling and was wondering which vehicle would be better.

ax10 all the way. The wk is a decent truck, but the axles are a bit wide to do serious crawling, the tranny is a bit big, and the general layout is poor. I view the 50 dollar kit as a waste of money. Better spent on the ax10. I like the artr version best, seems to give the best selection of option parts for the money. Bought an artr for a buddy and he has used it alot, and even built a custom chassis for it. Good platform that will not wear out as your skills increase. Even in stock form it is very good.

Sweet thanks for the advice. I didnt want to throw 50 dollars down the tubes only to realize that buying an AX10 would crawl that much better. I took the WK stock rock crawling and it was just sad. Every vid I have seen with an AX10 just seems to crawl so much better than anything else out there.
