should I? ls10 8xl? - 11.06.2008, 01:14 AM

I'm not going to run my rusty anymore since I bought my ls10. I was running a 540c 8xl (2084 kv) in my rusty. Is it too much motor for the ls10? I never got above 8 nickel metal cells in the rusty as that was plenty. Should I just stick to like 3s on the 8xl and gear up? Any thoughts appreciated.

Should be fine, if you have everything to do it go ahead. The truck will only place so much load on the motor, and it should have the torque to pull the high gearing.

cool. I may have to do a center diff mod to get decent gearing.....

yea going from the 54 tooth spur to the 46 of the crt.5 is a BIG change in gearing and should match up good with the low rpm of the 8xl on 3s.

I cant find the crt.5 center diff, so Im going to try and mod an mgt 46 spur to fit on the ls10 slipper. If it doesnt work its a hyper 7 diff.
