Old Castle Link Wire - garbage?

Is the old Castle Link Wire/product - garbage? (green pcb)

Or can i use this one with softwareupdate for all CC Products?

Still works can use it with MMM or bec

Still works with everything. No real difference between the old and new, just looks different.
