How does the Slayer stack up to the hype now that it been out a while? - 11.07.2008, 10:53 PM

There no sense in posting a qustion like this at the traxxas forum. I always got a chuckle when someone would post in the Ruslter forum "Which should I get a Ruslter or Stampede."

Anyways. I'm looking at a few different rc's for the next one and the slayer is on the list. The slayer has been out for a while and now that the excitement of a new rc might be wearing off of some of you owners. What are your thoughts on them? Are they worth the money? Do they handle/perform as might of expected? Looking for any input.

My slayer is one of my favorite rcs, just behind the erevo. I have a hacker c50 13l on 5s in mine. I run buggy wheels with badlands tires. I have a feeling that those tires make all the difference ove rthe stock stuff. It does roll over if you turn too fast on a high grip surface, and does require more finesse to run fast, but that is fun to me.

Just a quick note - Traxxas now has Slayer-specific sway bars. I'm guessing they have different rates than the Revo set.

SH Z-Car, Custom Crawler, 8s Savage, 12s XTM XLB 1/7 buggy, 4wd 4-link rear/IFS Pro4 truck, Custom Hyper 10 Short Course, Belt-Drive Mammoth ST 1/8 truggy, 4s 17.5 MM Pro HPI Blitz

The Slayer is pretty awsome but I would wait because eventually they will have an E-Slayer. It was destined to be great, being built on one of the best suspension designs ever. I would actually prefer to turn and E-Revo into an E-Slayer.

The answer is no. And yes, mine is faster.

I had to read the last sentence a couple of time but now it make sense to me. Take a new E-revo and make it into a slayer. For some reason I still picture a conversion when I see e-revo.

It looks to be a fun rc to drive. I was going to run it Nitro for awhile before I convert it. I enjoy the nitro side once in a while. I would like to get something a little different from what I got now. The slayer may just do the trick and it doesn't have wings either. Joking around the LHS tries to sell me a plane (and a pirate ship) everytime I am in there. That must be where they make their money. I'm not ready for my wings yet though.

Thanks for your guys input.
