geting a savage 25 for almost nothing - 10.14.2008, 02:20 PM

I'm geting the savage in this pic for about $100, I am told that it has upgraded diffs, I'm not new to RC or nitro, but I'v never realy looked at geting a savage before.

what upgrades are recomended?
any parts that I should have on hand since I live an hour away from a hobby shop?
I was thinking about converting it to a savage x using this "canversion" any opinions?

any other help that you can offer would be nice

the savage is a beast stock.
If you bash hard though

alloy diff cup
alloy shocks
and a screw kit

Between that you are good to go IMO

If it does not have the upgraded steering setup, get that. The stock servo mounted saver sucks. The upgrade has the saver mounted to the bellcrank. A tein disk brake is also a good idea.

Just a though, I have a savage that is already converted to electric that I am thinking of selling.

Heres a link to it with a few pics of the layout : http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11407

Not asking much for it, and it has the upgraded diffs, cvd center shafts, heavy duty driveshafts, bellcrank saver steering setup, and twin disk brake setup. Pm me if you are interested. I will try to get some current pics up. I can sell it as a roller, or with the motor and esc...

Linc, if you can't sell the truck, I definitely want that yellow body! It will match most of the ones in my fleet, but won't have to trouble myself with the demolition!

Yeah, I'm just kidding, but I had to say something about it!

I expected something... I still have the body and it is bash ready. Just send me 20 bucks and it is yours (+ shipping/handling).

I wouldn't feel right unless I sent you at least $35 + shipping.

ok, thanks for the help.

I should have said that I'm trading my MM 4600 combo for it, IDK what I'm going to do with this though, I might convert it, I might not. or it may become a 4stroke project

Alloy diff cups and the X stearing setup are all I would really do to it. I have 3 Savages, and I beat the living crud out of my trucks. They really hold up well to the abuse. Honestly tho, the 25 TVPs hold up better than the X TVPs do. My X TVPs bent the first time the truck say 15 foot of air.
