dewalt drill motors in Erevo - 11.23.2008, 11:18 AM

Does anyone have any experience running cordless drill motors in an electric application? I came across a thread on Traxxas where a guy was running a 12v dewalt in his erevo. I'm looking to set my erevo up for the winter and I want something waterproof and more reliable than the titans. I heard these motors are pretty powerful and extremely durable. I have a brushless setup but I won't run it in the wet weather. Thanks for any input

If you want a good reliable motor get something like a 700 HO. Or there is also the 970, but however they weight a ton. Hope it helps. :)

I know that the 18v new style dewalt drill motor will not fit the erevo rear facing motor mount. The bolt pattern is wider than the 30mm bolt pattern setup. The dewalt motors are supposed to be the best, better than anything else out there in the same price range.

Your best bet in my opinion is to check out this site for what you want. He has the motors you need, and all kinds of adapter plate for mounting such setups. If you cannot find what you want send Dan and email and he can make up custom gear for your needs. I have the dual 18v 970 motors for one of my setups, but have not run it just yet. Too many projects going at one time. Good luck in your quest for more power and more speed.
