Angry Fm radio - 11.25.2008, 12:55 AM

Ok I was messin with my truck today and i rolled it. So when I go to turn it over it has no radio connection So Im thinking its the reciver. I go buy another reciver and its giving me the same problem. Could the esc (MM) be messed up in any way. The radio is a mx-3 fm 3 ch reciver combo. Could you break a crystal ????
Help me

Diagnostics...

Does the MM power/light up at all?
-If no check your MM switch

Is your RX / Servo powered?
- If no check the lead from MM to RX or RX Pack/UBEC

Does your servo move with TX input?
- RX or crystal broken

Rgds

When I power up the mm it blinks the 3 lights like it has no rx input/signal. The servo and the bec are working correctly but the tx can not move the sevro in any way this is why I was thinking it was the rx but i replaced that and no change. Is it possible to break a crystal? That seems to be the last thing unless I somhow broke somthing inside the esc...

Sounds more like a loose wire in the rx lead- check the pins are fully seated into the plug, and that they inturn seat fully into the rx it self. While you're at it, check all the wiring over for damage- could be the crytal, but unless you have a spare to check the orginal against, you may have trouble finding the route of the problem (besides bad driving skills ). You lhs should be able to help with crystals if needs be.

The pins seem to be fully seated in the rx but when I plug in an am radio system its the same problem. Then I pluged in a nitro car ebec to diecretly power the reciver thinking its the bec but only servos power up but still no movment from the tx. Could it be the esc ???

If you plugged a battery pack into the receiver and the servo worked then it doesn't sound like the receiver. You can check the esc's channel by plugging the steering servo into the esc channel and use the battery pack. If the servo moves when you use the throttle your receivers fine. Check the wires coming off the board on the MM. There's the two for the switch that can become loose and create problems.
