HAHAHA, what a joke. My painting skill for tiny cars leave alot to be desired! I just figured that I would throw out 3six's name as he is the best rc painter I could think of, ole' Zegers better whatch his back!!!
Anyways, here are a few snaps of my waterproof mud truck. Started as a tamiya f350 high lift, I added a pede tranny, 23t titan motor, tamiya esc and some other parts. Waterproofing consisted of dipping the esc, servo, and lipo in plasti dip, using an erevo sealed radio box for the spektrum esc, and a small sectioned tupperware for the bec and servo actuated led switch.
Paint is walmart's best gloss and 3m rubberized undercoating. Funy story behind this body...
I bought the high lift kit last year and when it came time to paint the body I figured that I would use some auto paint (I own a body shop and have 12-14k worth of paint on hand). Well...that paint was too aggressive and wrinkled the plastic. So I sanded the body down, but had to sand into the body to get it smooth and sanded out some of the detail in the process. So I said $#*^ it and sparyed it with 3m undercoating and let it ride. Now I just got back to wanting to paint the body, and figured that I wanted a camo effect.
So I picked up some leaf stickers from walmart and cleaned the body up. Stuck a few on randomly and sprayed the brown, then stuck more on and sparyed green, then I did it again with a bunch of stickes and more brown.
Not too bad for my first camo job... I will do it again with a slightly different metod on my lunch box body.
