Gangsta Azz Paint Job (watch out team3six)!!! - 01.03.2009, 09:30 PM

HAHAHA, what a joke. My painting skill for tiny cars leave alot to be desired! I just figured that I would throw out 3six's name as he is the best rc painter I could think of, ole' Zegers better whatch his back!!!

Anyways, here are a few snaps of my waterproof mud truck. Started as a tamiya f350 high lift, I added a pede tranny, 23t titan motor, tamiya esc and some other parts. Waterproofing consisted of dipping the esc, servo, and lipo in plasti dip, using an erevo sealed radio box for the spektrum esc, and a small sectioned tupperware for the bec and servo actuated led switch.

Paint is walmart's best gloss and 3m rubberized undercoating. Funy story behind this body...

I bought the high lift kit last year and when it came time to paint the body I figured that I would use some auto paint (I own a body shop and have 12-14k worth of paint on hand). Well...that paint was too aggressive and wrinkled the plastic. So I sanded the body down, but had to sand into the body to get it smooth and sanded out some of the detail in the process. So I said $#*^ it and sparyed it with 3m undercoating and let it ride. Now I just got back to wanting to paint the body, and figured that I wanted a camo effect.

So I picked up some leaf stickers from walmart and cleaned the body up. Stuck a few on randomly and sprayed the brown, then stuck more on and sparyed green, then I did it again with a bunch of stickes and more brown.

Not too bad for my first camo job... I will do it again with a slightly different metod on my lunch box body.

I gotta say that if that was an older f-series body it would look exactly like something you'd see out in the woods or at a mud bog! Great scale build

Yep, I actually have the blackfoot body, which is like a 93-97 f150 body. I may paint that to match my old f250 though... I do have a lunchbox van that will get the cammo job, that will make you guys laugh...

I was going to do the roll bar, but the led in the headlight is bright enough, and this truck gets beaten, so the lights would most likely break off quickly. I will do rool bar lights on the blackfoot body...

That truck reminds me of my home town. Now you need to cut off the bed and make a new one out of wood for the REAL redneck look. That's what you are supposed to do when the bed rusts out, in case you didn't know.

To complete the redneck scheme, you need:

- A gunrack with a shotgun on it.
- Colored tape over a tail light
- Either a wooden bumper, or a flatbed with wooden slats for the sides.
- A set of "dirty danglers" hanging from the bumper (I think Proline makes them - or used to).
- A couple of scaled empty beer cans in the back
- A "Dukes of Hazzard" horn
- A pine tree air freshener hanging from the rearview
- A skanky woman doll in the passenger seat.

Correction: RPM makes the dirty danglers...

I am working on the "ghetto" scale Navigator, but it will have some of the items you mentioned...

I do need to find another truck with full interior that I can use to make the "redneck special"... All the items you mentioned and more will be incorporated into that truck!
