Red face New Brushless E-Revo...?......(post pics..:) - 12.14.2008, 05:20 PM

I currently own a T-maxx 3.3 and for the heck of it I was looking into electric... I don't know much about brushless but that everyone is talking it up... Now my question is should I wait for the e-revo brushless to come out in january? Or by the e-revo or e-maxx and convert it? And what are the advantages with brushless?

PLEASE POST PICTURES

Thanks

i am partial to the maxx as i have owned several of them including 2 e-revos. the e-revo is cool but i like the monster truck look. my maxx has proved to be durable with the minimal upgrades i have made.
here is a picture
dont mind those batteries there a pile of melted plastic now lol.

setup is
c50 9xl clone from bid product($40)
MMMv2 with new firmware($140)
zippy 5s 5000mah 20-30c batt on order($100)
21/68 gearing for now but i have 65, and 62 spur gears
should be right around 40mph with decent temps. as long as this motor lasts long enough to clear my debt and get the 80mm medusa im great. but so far it hasnt broken 100 degrees and sub par batts heat stuff up as well.

I would say wait for the BL Revo. Sure, you can convert one now, but the package deal will come with everything you'll need without having to sell parts off a stock vehicle.

I conccur.

The advantages of BL over nitro/ brushed are many fold, to such an extent that I cant be bothered to explain them...

Have nitro fumes blinded some people?

How about potentially 3X the speed of nitro?
And about 10X the torque.

How about 1 hr+ runtimes?
How about not pissing off the neighbors, even at night?

Please put the nitro down and step away, be one of us......

I was racing yesterday and I got a headache from the fumes/noise.

brian..hehe

I personally would go for a e-revo BL edition. Cost effective package that has everything you will need... besides batteries.

Advantages of lipo?....dude..its writen on the rosetta stone
Little to NO maintenance
Instant torque ...aka you can do backflips...on the ground
insane acceleration off the line
speeds that you wont wanna hit
Dependent on ESC you can "tune" your car to your needs
Nitros suck...

THE END

At this point, the "official" E-Revo Brushless Edition from Traxxas (not a convert) will be released on January 16th, 2009. So at the point, the only pictures you can see are at Traxxas.com. I can't wait! My LHS will have one for me as soon as they are in stock! WooHoo!

Why is everyone extolling the virtues of BL over nitro? Talk about preaching to the choir!

BL=Brushless. Just easier to type....you know, OMG, LOL, etc.

Yeah, wait. Unless you just can't stand it, then buy a regular E-Revo and buy a MMM Combo and make one yourself.
