Question help with tires please - 12.19.2008, 06:21 AM

hi guys, quite a few questions here to bare with me!

1. My stock talons balloon like crazy. is there anything i can do to prevent this? I thought about maybe putting a zip-tie round the centre of each one to hold them in.

2. my stock talons keep getting ripped away from the rim. they are held on with normal super glue, but mabye this isnt the best thing. would shoo-goo, or hot glue work better?

3. im thinking about getting some different tires and rims altogether. I was looking at the big joe tires because they are big(!), look cool, and i will have more ground clearance and they are wider so i will have more stability at high speed (so i think).
My questions are:
a) because they are much wider will they balloon as much?
b) are they too heavy for the e-revo transmission and drive shafts?
c) what gearing would be recommended for the MMM combo when using them?
d) how would i attach them, using 17mm or 23mm hexes?
e) and finally, would beadlocks be a better alternative to stop them coming off the rim?

thanks soooo much

IMO the Talons are not that good of a tire, going to beadlocks is more of not having to glue your tires. If you remove the tire from the wheel, turn the tire inside out and tape the inside of the tire with duct tape will help a lot....there has been a lot of discussion on the forum about this topic
