Emaxx, Erevo, & Summit ...40MPH? - 12.19.2008, 05:39 PM

So this "company" claims that their product will make the Emaxx, E-revo and summit go 40+ MPH.

I feel this is misleading cuz i think they mean their product will make a Upgraded Emaxx, Erevo or summit hit 40+MPH.

Just curious to what oyu guys think on this...can a stock emaxx erevo, or summit go 40+MPH on magic?

www.maxamps.com hehehe

Uh huh. Sure. Yeah right. You bet. DREAM ON! Yup, those Titans surely can do that, huh? How do they figure they can even promote that? I'm sorry, but this is just another reason I am glad I didn't choose them for my battery purchase.

If you click on the "learn more" link the first thing it says is "40+mph in most brushless setups(7.4 Volts)"

hmm didnt see that. So maybe im wrong, but i dont like how they present it

it says
"Ultimate kit to make your Traxxas E-Maxx scream! All you need is a power supply for the charger a lipo cutoff for your ESC and you're ready to run."

then it says
"40+mph in most brushless setups(7.4 Volts)"

then
"equires E-maxx Tray Expansion Kit (#3927X) to fit"

....c'mon...

I am surprised I havent seen advertisement like that on the cheap ebay lipos. That I would expect. I guess I need to buy some cheap 3s 5000s and claim 60mph garenteed in a e-revo! I would look better than maxamps b/c my ad would say 60mph

Edit: So If i put a feigao 12L in my erevo and buy there lipos I sould hit 40 right?

lol, i dont car WHAT batteries you're running, those titans won't get a 1/18 sized car up to 40MPH (ok, maybe like 38-39...) anyways, ya, i dont but maxamps for many reasons including this one

Check out my FS thread in the General Discussion!! Help me go lipoly!!!

You have to read maxamps fine print. It states that it will hit 40mph with most brushless systems.

im doing 55 mph with my 1515 and Neu 30c's lol They kinda put their foot in their mouth with the fine print, seems like they were trying to make you think it will be magically faster with their lipos, then they say (with brushless) no duh man you can do 40 with nimh and brushless

Most brushless systems will do 40 with nimhs...this applies to 10th and 8th scale...

Not really much of a claim. Now, they are referrring to brushless systems that are designed to run a monster truck, so not many to pick from. Pretty much the only brushless systems that are setup to work in a MT are the novak hv and the MMM/neu setup from castle. So how many is most of 2? And I am sure that either will do 40 with 14 good nimh cells. Lipo is better, but you see what maxamps claims are, just smoke and mirrors...

My original E-REVO (G2R-Novak HV 4.5) was only run on 12 NiMh cells, cheap ones at that. 4500mah Tenergy cells and that hit 38MPH in about 75' and was still gaining. That MPH claim was verified on police radar on an icy parking lot to boot! MaxAmps should review there marketing strategy and get rid of a certain individual! However in there defense I will say that they do have some other employees that will go out of their way to help and please! Any time I deal with them in the future I will be dealing with Alex!
