Whops I did it again... -
12.23.2008, 04:21 PM
Was out running my matrix today when the truck got really jittery, i would floor it- then it would cutout then the MMM would rearm... so i was fuming thinking that it was the MMM on its way out the door, so I bring it in and check it -mmm is fine- took off the voltage jutoff and checked it with a 9v battery. so then i go and charge the lipo- all is well and charges just fine...so now im confused, I go to unplug the pack from the charger and hear arcing...Uh oh . I immediately grrab the nearest shart object(nail clippers) and tear open my pack. come to find that the copper tab for the + connection on the end cell broke loose from the tab built into the cell...
This is what I found
Im going to attempt to solder it back.. if not its going to the pimp....again...

Well, I just got a zippy pack from another member, and one of the copper tabs had broken the al piece off the cell... Bad idea, they should either stick with longer once piece al tabs or have a one piece copper tab. I will attempt to solder this back on. I am guessinf the slight flex of the pack cause the heavier copper tab to tear the al portion off. The crimp weld between the two was still intact. Guess you do get what you pay for...
On another note does anyone want a 5000 4s zippy... I will let it go cheapish...
