thinking about getting a Savage 25 RTR monster truck
This will be my first nitro truck. Do you think it would be a good starter truck?Or is there a better one? any suggestions would be great
If you can bring up the money, the SSK4,6 is great too! stronger motor, better tires, and some valuable hopups come with the kit already.. (yeah, it's a kit for sure)
The .25 RTR is a good truck too, don't get me wrong here.
Did you considered a revo bytheway? it's a great starterstruck IMO.
I've had a savage and it was really good!! strong as a tank! Like serum said get the ss 4.6 kit cause it comes with the heavy duty parts and bigger engine.
I ended up getting a Revo for my first truck because it seemed like it would be easier to work on than the Savage. It's been a lot easier to run than I thought it would be, being my first Nitro and all.
If I were to do it over again right now though, I think I'd get the Losi LST2. Big block power, basher and racer, and the thing is just all MONSTER!!
If you want to now what I think.
I had a few nitro's bud the offroad one's always broke down on me.
So I would do a FG monster truck wiht casoline enegine never stops easy tuning and the top speed would be the same.
Or buy a rolling frame savage and build it into BL
:C: :C: That tuning off nitro inegine's make you go nuts:C: :C:
My first REAL nitro experience was with the Losi LST, and i found it to be an awesome truck ;) Was so easy to tune and everything (with some advice from a mate) and very easy to assemble etc for maintenance ;) If you go this - get the LST2.
The Revo/savage i cant speak on, as i've never owned one - but the savage i have heard is kinda complex to wrench on with the TVPs - only what i have heard - but it's a very durable truck and will take almost anything you throw at it...
The revo is a good one also, as it's smaller in size, holds up to alot, and is pretty quick - also the trx is pretty easy on tuning etc - even easier to start with the EZ start system :)
Whatever way you go - you'll have plenty of fun with any of them :)
(oh cool - i just 50 posts - and an email saying i receive a small special prize to use in the store - cool!)
Are you sure we can't persusade you to go for an electric truck.
More initial outlay but less headaches and pulling your hair out and probably less cost in the long run. Also faster, more powerful, more reliable, you can use it in a built up area and just generally better.:D
what do you guys thinks about a Savage SS 4.6 Kit
I already have a hitec servo with 333 oz of torque original reciever and transmiter from My E Maxx what else would I need to complete the kit?
