Did I fry my MambaMaxx ESC?? - 12.29.2008, 04:55 AM

I was out running my E-Maxx today and got through 2 pack changes fine but when I plugged in the third set it made some strange/bad noises and it might have puffed a little, not sure.
We were in allot of snow and it was about 15degrees. The setup is 3905 E-Maxx with Losi ATX tires on dish rims, MM esc, 9xl motor w/ clamp, 12-14 cells of Tenergy 3800's. Gearing is 17pinion and 67 spur(I think, 1 size less then stock). Temps on all equipment were good till I plugged in the third packs. I had earlier that day used a small amount of silicone around the case to seal up the ESC and tape over the USB port.
Is it dead or is there something I can do here? It smells burnt but doesn't look it.I hate to have to wait the 4+ weeks for a repair.
