No. That thing has plagued the updated hvmaxx like... a plague. The little trans-orb chips keep going pop resulting in fire and exploded caps (seen numerous threads on the idiot forum about it happening). I would say you dont need an extra cap if you just run 3s lipo, but if you want to, a normal ~4000uf ( or 2x 2000uf) 25-35v low esr item is what you want, I think Mike and tekin sell suitable items in their shops

Better to use an external bec like the ccbec with the mm on 3s. It will cut the heat produced by the internal bec and give you selectable voltage too. Just remove the red wire from the mm rec wire. I found the extra caps are only necessary when running 4s, but the bec will cut temps alot.

I plan on using a ccbec. I was just looking at taking more temps./pressure off of the esc, that's all

May not really be worth it. I use the std novak caps that came with the old hvmaxx, not the new transorb ones. Kinds makes the esc big and you have to find a place to put the cap.

Does this cap replace the stock cap on a mm , or is it a addition to the stock cap ?.

Additonal- the MM has 3 small caps as standard (not sure of the ratings), this cap would be an add-on to help improve temps and make life a little easier on the lipos when running 4s lipo.

Would i solder it to the same place on the board that my ubec is soldered to the battery input wires ?.

Pretty much yeah. Ideally you would solder it as close to the board as possible (+ and - wires) to get maximum benefit- having it on long fly-leads negates much of the posistive effect it has, so it would be good to trim off some of the insulation, and solder the legs of the cap directly onto the power wires = neat and tidy install.
