mgm Product Warranty - 12.27.2008, 07:05 PM

My 16018 does not pass for purchase one year either.
rc8 1515 2.5
I burnt during a test in 16/44 for 6s.
I have 16018×2 16024×2, but there is no problem when I tested it in other ESC.
It was said that it cost money of repair.
Does this case cost the money of repair?

I used my 16018 according to the specifications.
rc8(TEKNO v3)
NEU1515 2.5 (TEKNO)
16/44T
lipo 6s.
However, ESC burnt.
The purchase does not pass for one year.
Does it still cost money of repair?

It shouldn't cost anything to have it fixed if it was used within the limits and under 1 year of ownership.

All I ever wanted was an honest weeks pay for an honest days work.

Try sending them an e-mail or just mail your ESC to them. I have done this myself and they are good people. They will fix it.
See them here:http://mgm-compro.com/contacts.php

I never do how to use to fail.
6s
1515 2.5
16/44
now RC8 gear up (20/44).
It moves with another 16018 smoothly.
I say only my mistake for various reasons.
Because English is not so proud, I cannot strongly say.
Only pay repair is made.

mgm email
Dear Kim,

ne clear which motor and setting you really use, e-mail bellow you wrote about NEU motors ???
In all cases, when you overload the motor, you can easy damaged magnets in the motor - you find this state also easy: current without load is significantly higher than nominal catalogue value, rpm/V is also higher and when you rotate with shaft by hand, you can find smaller force than with corect motor.
4 mm connectors which you use are no good choice for 160A power unit - these connectors have very bad parameters for higher current and can loss contact --> damage controller. We strongly recommend better connectors, for example MPJET 3,5 or better MPJET 5,5 or MPJET 6,0 ( http://mgm-compro.com/index.php?tid=...tors-mp-jet-60 )or equivalent.

Best regards,
Grisa

I bought it in January of this year.
It is not the thing which it sent a half year ago.
I have 16018×2.
I have 16024×2.
The motor is TEKNO 1,515 2.5
It is a new article.
It does not cut the motor wiring either.
The thing broken this time ran in MUGGY cheerfully.
I have not placed battery adversely either.
Would it be life soon?
Then there is not a way.
I do not do at all wrong setting.

Dear Kim,

waranty is one year, but customer mistake can damaged controller 10 minutes after buying and no possible lodge a claim.
Your controller was here some month ago and was also damaged by your mistake (damaged current sense resistors for BEC etc.), this is no possible other way than your mistake (100%).
Now we don´t find component problem or assembly problem. All wrong components shows in first hours of equipment life, no after 6 or more month. I don´t know which connectors you use, which setting you use, your motor can has defect, reverse battery polarity is possible or short circuit on the motor cables. I am sorry, this in no under waranty.

Best regards,
Grisa

Thank you for an email.
I waited for your email for one month.
It is too late.
I purchase my 16018 and do not pass for one year. (RCM)
I was testing BUGGY RC8 with NEU1515 2.5 in 6s, and burnt.
Become the problem; do not run.
Why does repair cost money?
Why is not it Product Warranty?

Dear Kim,

your controller is very damaged (all power plates), repair is possible, but price will be the 90% of the new controller. I suggest you better solution - new controller with the best price (~60% price). TMM 16025 - 3s Car/Boat E-series with coolers and I can give you price 110 Eur + shipping.
Please let me know if this solution is good for you.

Best regards,
Grisa

P.S.: I wish you happy new year 2009.

That sucks bro. By the way I like the pictures you do really clean work. Your wires look very neat. Guess it is time for a MMMv3.

I trust CC very much.
Nothing doubts a user like MGM.
Because MGM strong, 4 bought ESC of MGM.
But I purchase MMM as a spare because I understood that MGM not so strong for a price high this time.

I sure hope my 16018 doesn't burn up any time soon, sounds like they've got some terrible CS. Blaming everything on the consumer is Traxxas' thing, such a shame that MGM does the same.

I love RC very much.
I made five BL conversion.
REVO MBX5T XT8 RC8 MUGGY.
There is experience as such more than 15 years.
I do not make a rudimentary mistake.

I want you to keep the promise as a maker.
It is a waste of the postage ($ 20) from Japan to Czech.
I send the photograph and should understand the state first.
You should say the waranty outside at the time.

Dear Kim,

send controller to inspection / checking / repair to us.

Best regards,
Grisa

I have had good luck with mgms costomer service. They fixed 2 of my esc for free outside of the warrenty period(about 2 years out of warrenty) I offered to pay but they took care of it for me. At that time I had 7 mgm escs. I since sent my 16018 to them as it died on start up????? It got lost in the mail. It was going to cost $300 to insure it to them and just $40 without it the insurance. So you can imagin what rought I took. So mnow I am down a 16018 esc. I replaced it with the mmm

My another MGM stopped suddenly, too.
ESC did not burn at the time.
I checked it in MGM.
It is very cheerful now.
A problem is the one that burnt.
It moved in MUGGY without a trouble very well.
I burnt on a test suddenly when I moved it in new RC8.
It may have been life.
The correspondence of this MGM is very disappointing.

Very sad to hear.

Hopefully soon we all will have many options for choosing an ESC. With new 1/8th ESC's coming out, it will make the manufacturers produce better competing products and may produce better customer service.

I pray so, too.
The next project thinks about BAJA5.
I do not buy MGM next.
