rookie with first time brushless conversion/hyper 7 - 01.31.2009, 04:51 PM

ok, been reading a lot and it's a lot to digest.... so what I have so far is a very clean hyper 7, mmm v1 with a cc bec, neu 1515 1yf, an rcm motor mount and 13t mod 1 pinion, batteries are what I'm concerned with, what should I run with this setup? any other suggestions would be welcome

it's not for the track it's for bashing and showing up friends with their brushless slashes

Since you are looking to beat other BL vehicles you need speed, I would get a neuenergy 5s 5000mah 30c lipo.

Running a BL slash against a BL Hyper 7 is like bringing a knife to a gunfight. No contest. :)

5s will be more than enough to blow their doors off...on 6s it will be stupid fast, almost un-controable

so, next question, where to get the batteries, cheaply, I know hobbycity zippy packs are the absolute cheapest but since I have a slash also and my 5yr old has a stock slash what is the opinion of the elite 4800 25-30c packs in 2s and 3s from cheapbatterypacks run in series? as much as it seems to be a fairly over the top setup it was all gotten cheaply here and there so I am on kind of a buget only into it for about $425-$450 so far

Elite packs are good but i recommend going with their 30c version.

I would just get a single 5s or 6s pack. You want all of the cells to be run together and always be at the same voltage. Once you start running them in different trucks it causes them to be slightly out of sync and don't stay balanced.
