MCD MT "clone" 1/5 Conversion - 09.11.2008, 08:05 AM

Well I decided yesterday Im going to convert my clone. Ive ran it for about 4 full tanks and got an xcan upgraded pipe & and a higher intake air filter. Im still not satisfied with its preformance so Ive decided to take the plunge and convert it. What Im most likely going to do is buy a 300kv brushless scooter "m" size motor from fleabay or get one off my friends new scooter. I will be using a BidProduct 125a 10s ESC and as for lipos Im not exactly sure yet. Im thinking 10s but I am still debating on that or 8s. Hopefully I can finally get some pics for you guys somtime later today of it and its layout "drivetrain, components, whatever..." But after my hard running on it their is not one sign of wear on the truck. The dogbones/cups are still brand new and the drivetrain alltoghther is holding up spactacular. So will see how this plan goes...

Before sinking the amount of money in it will take to convert this beast, have you considered a modified motor. I mean usually on this Chinese clones they cheap out on stuff like the motor and electronics so it would be worth a look in my opinion.

Everything on the truck is rock solid and reliable in my opinion. I havent noticed any wear on any parts on the drivetrain and I have not broken any parts after some good bash sessions with it. I dont want another gas engine. The one I have now is a beast for torque but seeing that its a 30cc it has no good topend. The whole gas concept of it just bothers me so Ill just give it a shot...
