Ticking Noise After Throttle is Released - ESavage - 01.07.2009, 07:59 PM

Okay, so, after a good run (actually this has been going on for about a month now.), I notice after I lift the throttle, back to 0, there's this ticking sound.

I'm wondering if it means I toasted a diff, or anything..
I'm also looking for a brushless upgrade, so any tips would be perfect..
I'd like to get this straightened out before I put some major cash into a BL system.

I have a feeling it's the front diff...
Someone off the E-Savage forums noted that it might be something stuck in the driveshafts, rolling around?

Any help here?

I have another problem... In another thread

if its off throttle, it can easily be a pine straw or something around the drive lines or wheels.

but at the same time, a diff beginning to go bad will do the same

But I checked it over at least 4 times, and nothing...

Disconnect the drive shafts systematically until you close in on the source of the noise.

Upgrading the esavage to BL isnt recommended unless you can do something about the lousy diffs, and tranny- neither will stand up to even a hvmaxx, and you cant use the nitro parts on the e....

That looks like nice stuff. Let's hope it takes care of the problem.

The guys on the e-savy forums treat him like a god to which bugs me... His products are nice for bashing but very very expensive at the same time...

I don't have anything against him, except that his products are incredibly expensive.
I looked on his website for the diff, probably 80 bucks, for an assembled diff.. My jaw was on the ground... Until I picked it up.

Guess I gotta stop cheaping out :[

$80 for one diff isnt too bad, but even though its hardened metal, its still only a 4 spider design; UE 6 spider diffs for the maxx cost about $130 each (new), just to put things in perspective a little.

Hey, it's worth almost any price if you only have to buy it once.

Yeah.
I'd buy it @ 200 if it's 100% bulletproof, and I mean even if you put a bullet into it, it'll still run.
