8ight vs 8ight 2.0 - 01.15.2009, 10:58 AM

Has anyone driven both of them? Is the 8ight 2.0 worth spending the extra money on? When they are dumping the 8ight's for 299 or less....

What are ya gonna do with it?

Bashing and general track running, save the money. If you plan to compete with it seriously and are an above average driver then get 2.0.

Thats my opinion anyway. That 8 roller at sub $300 is a killer deal IMO.

I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...

the 2.0 is suposed to be more stable and in sure a new driver would be able to feal that but i dont think its worth the extra price if you are not going to race it often

my other thought is that unless I want to buy a new buggy and truggy it would be better to buy the 1.0 since it will have more interchangeable parts than if I had a 2.0 buggy and 1.0 truggy

Good point. I think they have the conversion kits too. So if you decide after racing the 1.0 that you want to upgrade you could buy the parts and make it into a 2.0. Not sure how much those parts are

losi says they have no plans for a conversion kit but you can score all the parts needed on ebay for about $150

Oh, I see - I thought there was a kit out there. Maybe I thought that because I saw one on eBay. Probably someone that just labeled it that way. Thanks for the correction.
