a little confused and not sure if i got what i paid for? - 01.28.2010, 04:38 PM

ive always done all my rc shopping thru the monster with amazing service. on tuesday around noon i ordered a set of p2 rockers and opted for the usps express shipping. (overnight) it is now Thursday and i still haven't received the parts i ordered. i checked tracking and i should receive them by tomorrow. the part that im not comfortable with is that i payed an additional 20$ for the overnight shipping when its taking almost the same time to get here as the 5$ shipping... tomorrow morning i will call usps and see if this was there fault or a monster issue

The shipping service is overnight, but the processing time ( order > dispatch ) will still be anything from 1-5 days depending on how many orders are ahead of you to be sorted, packed & dipatched.

USPS doesn't always guarantee overnight. If you are out in the boonies they may not have an EMS hub close enough to you. If Mike's USPS driver didn't get back to his PO before 4pm, it goes into the next day's mail as well. EMS has earlier cutoff for outbound mail.

Yea. USPS express mail is quoted at 1-2 days. It aint FedEx...... thats for sure. But usps priority mail is a pretty darn good value for the service they provide.

I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...

Well if you ordered Tuesday about noon I wouldn't doubt that it didn't get processed till Wed, which explains you tracking it Wed and being in the USPS possesion, if they didn't deliver it to you it's obviously not Mike's fault

If i pay an extra 20 bucks for shipping i expect my order to be shipped out before others.
then again.. i wouldnt pay extra money for shipping because in the past i have realized that it generally isnt all that faster.

thats exactly my point. i paid 4x as much as the normal shipping yet it still takes the same number of days to get here? i talked to usps and they said that if mike would have dropped off the package earlier it would have been a next day delivery.
my first monster disappointment.

Mike uses pickup service, it is the postman that didn't get back to sorting in time.

standard shipping would probably hit you saturday or sunday. You paid to get it by the weekend, did you not?

Not to nit-pick but mail doesn't run on Sun. LOL seriously though I would have just went priority mail, usually only a day or so difference.

Justin,
I actually drove to the PO and dropped off your package myself(I normally get picked up but run Express packages as needed) - the Post Office unfortunately guaranteed delivery in 2 days for your package - likely due to your actual location - I actually questioned this when I dropped it off, because it seems stupid when priority would have arrived in 2-3 days.
I have a very close relationship with my Post office (even exchange XMas gifts with the Post Master)and know their pick up schedule. If I dropped it off before 8:30am, it MIGHT have arrived sooner, but the next pick up at my local office is 4:45pm(and I am usually up until 1-2am, so an 8:30am run to the PO is an unlikely scenario). Sadly, some locations just aren't guaranteed for next day from everywhere. I am sorry that you feel like I let you down - I went out of my way to make it happen, but the PO came up short this time around. I will even split the shipping difference with you as a token of appreciation for your continued support - you could simply send an email next time you have a question like this and I will handle the matter professionally as always. :)

i in no way meant this as a bash thread. i have always been very impressed with your service i just really needed this part by thursday... thank you for going out of your way to drop it off, i guess i just got spoiled by the service i usually receive.. i will go about this next time thru emails as this is a rare occurrence.

No worries, Justin. I didn't take it as a bash at all - it was/is a legitimate concern and I do thank you for your continued support and kind words even when we didn't deliver. My point was simply that if I had not seen the thread, I could not have responded in a timely manner to the issue - I can't look at every thread every day(or I wouldn't get anything else done) and it would be easy for me to miss any individual thread. Hopefully the delay hasn't caused to much trouble. :)

+1 I have spent 4x the normal shipping charges for expedited shipping to only receive the order 1 day sooner
