Some FLM Questions - Kinda - 02.20.2009, 10:17 AM

Hi Boys.
So, after a scrappy start I decided to forge ahead and build up my FLM chassis.
I won't be using my Kershaw DD drive because after trial fitting it is obvious it won't mate without surgery I am not prepared to do to the FLM. I'll stick with my titanium 2-speeder.

I have some questions though regarding some shock towers I have...

In the pic, I refer to the Multi hole tower, Integy I think, or something similar anyway.
I would like to use these towers but at the same time I want to retain the [soft] skid & bumper combo. Short of tie wrapping them to the thing, how is One supposed to locate the bumper support legs?

2nd question is regarding the other tower in the pic......

What is it? It was on a hideously poorly built Savage I got in a deal. In fact one of the only decent things the Savage had on it were the power strokes also in shot.
I know what they do, they are machined so as to be able to use the power stroke shocks, but who makes it??
I want to sell the strokes and towers as a bundle but need to know what I'm talking about first

Thanks !!

Do you have the savage x bumper?

When you want to use it you need savage x towers, from Nova of innovative rc.

I read you have a Titanium 2 speed??? Also the 2 big gears, where the shifting is?

I have 3 gears titanium, other two aren't for sale in titanium:(

Greetz,
Joram

This is the bumper arrangement I have right now on the FLM which is using XL systems.
Although I've owned every incarnation of the Savage through the years I can't remember if they all used this brace system. Is it only the X XL & FLUX ??

All the savages with an X have this system, the old one is mounted at the sides of the bulhead!

And about my Titanium gears question, are all 5 gears titanium???

The shafts are Ti + 3 gears. Sounds the same as yours :-)

I wanted to go for the flux gears but i love the 2 speed, much more speed...

I only don't like 2 plastic gears, they are the ones who break as first...

OK, I remembered how the Pre-X bumpers go now - Duh !!

Well I prefer the X method so I'll keep the stock towers on for now and perhaps drop over to the alloy versions at a later date if it seems necessary.

After a while trying to figure which body shell looks best on this long and skinny behemoth I came to an alarming conclusion, it's the E-Revo body ! HORROR but true
