Question RacerX shock set up questions? - 02.28.2009, 03:37 PM

I bash with big jumps. I want to change to an 8 shock setup. My E-Maxx currently has 4 shocks with 35 wt oil blue springs front and black spring rear.

I have two full sets of springs and some 40 wt oil. Could I use the 40 weight shock oil and white springs in the front and red in the rear? Is that good or not?

thanks

mark

Personally I would go red in the front and blue in the back with 45-50wt oil, for bashing with big jumps. Or you could try front....x1 red and x1 white, and rear x1 red and x1 blue. Play around to get the best combination that suits your needs and driving style.

I like it.......I LIKE IT ALOT!!!!!!

If you already have the 40wt oil, try it with them and go from there.

Hey Mark, I dont know if you've seen this before or if it really pertain's to your query b/c there's no mention of shock oil weight.

Plus no mention of your style of massive, Snake-River Canyon, Behemoth jumps.

Nonetheless, I thought you may find it helpful.

This is from the UE site pertaining to the setup to the shocks you run.

From what we've seen so far running them on our racetrucks the blue one works best in the rear and the red in the front. On our 8 shock heavyweight Brushless E-Maxx we use 4 white in the front and 4 reds in the rear. Heavier (than our racetrucks) 4 shock trucks will find that the blacks in the rear and blues up front will work well.

Are you running the 8 shock set-up yet? I know this thread was a few weeks old.

I'm running a 4 shock setup with blue springs in front and black in the rear with 50wt oil all around on my gmaxx running on 5S 6K lipos. It can take jumps with ease. Mind you, the whole truck weighs 11.5 lbs rtr with badlands tires.
