help pick tires... -
03.03.2009, 06:05 PM
I know I know there are lots of threads on tires, most run the gladiator2s and i have before on 2wd trucks but im wondering if anyone runs more "race" style tires all of my playing is done in dirt from tracks to my little track/playground, so Ive bought a crt.5 from a fellow member and my plans are to keep it LIGHT and pretty small, its ilpufxit's crt.5
ill be running my 9L, mm w/ cc bec, Flightpower 3s 3200 (from linc), it has the ofna extended chassis and rcm mount, ill make my own battery tray and im gonna run traxxas front dish wheels with some 2.2 truck tires for a little extra ground clearance for playing and to make flips and stupid stuff easier in the air....
Im looking at proline truck bowties m2 , proline truck holeshots m2 , jconcepts truck goosebumps green, and the gladiator2s m3 compound, panther studs, proline snake eyes m3....... anyone have a take on which to order????

azjc those are 1/10th buggy bowties m2.....they are made buy proline for ofna... they are a little to small for my liking id like a 4inch tall tire instead of the stock 3.5in talls ones....
only thing about the gladiators i know they dont work so great on the track and they are a good bit heavier than the rest......

I also liked the gladiator. I ran that on the crt.5 and the ls10. Good all around tire, but something like a crimefighter or bowtie may be a better choice for all dirt running.
BTW, your lipos went out priority yesterday, so you should have them in a day or so.

All of those would be a good choice as long as you are only on dirt.
1. MBX-6 T8 1900KV, RX8 ON 4S
2. MBX-5T 1520, MMM ON 5S
3. MBX-5 ONROAD CONVERSION 1515, MMM ON 5S
4. MRX-3 ON ROAD CONVERSION 1512, MMM ON 6S
5. TEN T 2650 T8, MMP ON 3S

Good choice...they will work well for you
1. MBX-6 T8 1900KV, RX8 ON 4S
2. MBX-5T 1520, MMM ON 5S
3. MBX-5 ONROAD CONVERSION 1515, MMM ON 5S

yea every one i talked to said they last a long time and are what theyd consider the "crimefighter" for 1/10ths so should work great, and panther's tires are a tiny bit smaller than proline 1/10ths, about 1/8 inch shorter to be excact, so these should be just the right size and they come with VERY firm insert that should hold the hefty little crt.5 up good.
