DX2.0 and XL-5 issue - 03.24.2009, 06:42 PM

I just got a reciever so now I can use my DX2.0 with my slash. The slash is all stock. I put the reciever in and got it bound to the transmitter. So now I am trying to calibrate the esc(XL-5) and the transmitter. I followed the instructions and I have done this process many times with other cars. So I put the esc is in calibration mode it flashes, and I give it full throttle, it recogonizes full throttle and flashes twice. So then I give it full reverse as instructed. For some reason it is not recognizing that I am giving it reverse throttle. I hold it there for a long time and it never gives the confirmation flash. Any help would be appriciated. I can't seem to figure it out.

I had the same problem with my DX2.0/SR3000 and Mamba Monster (V2/V3).
I solved with the Spektrum Voltage Protector SPM1600:

...on Ebay there are many

Does the XL-5 like things set at 50/50? For some reason, I recall calibrating issues with my old xl-5 due to having it set at 70/30.
