If this is the first BL truck experience i would take a maxximum of 16 cells, with that same motor.
the bigmaxximum is discussed on this forum quite some times before! to keep a long story short, save money, buy a setup with the same power (7XL/9920) for less than half the price and enjoy a more reliable setup as well. (or at least, a controller made by a manufacturer that takes a stand for his products.
If money is issue leave the plettenbergs out. I have not owned one but serum has and said they over rated for money. I would buy a lehner 19 series before the pletten berg. I have ran the 7xl and 9xl. I have a video of the 9xl in the thread I posted. Me I like the 9xl. It gives me good run time with power. I have ran 25- 30 min on a gp3700 18 cells. The 7xl will give you good power with a lower run time. How fast are you looking to go?
Peace!

The Plettenbergs are very nice motors but yes are very pricy and then theres the schulze aswell ...... Yea the plett has great preformance and would look sweet on my truck but its a lot of extra cash .......
16 cells would have been ideal but i wanst sure and you know people say differnt things, yes this is my frist brushless truck ....
On a totally differnt subject im looking for an integy Superduty front bulkhead and cant find one any where? i can find loads of places with the rear but i need the front ? any ideas? mikes out of stock .....
Yea i watched a couple ............... Looks good, the brushless system is a long way off some i have loads of time for research, at the moment i want to focus on getting it rolling.
But im not going to get very far without a front bulkhead lol ....
I thought about a blue one then polishing it down ?
