v3 stopped, but castle link still works.??? - 11.27.2008, 07:41 PM

Last night I tested my new v3, neu1515/1y on neuenergy 4s. Once the truck just shut down. Dead . When I went to get it it started working. Today I went to have a turkey day bash and the truck would shut down and start up 3 or 4 times at the start then ran fine After about 10 great min. it just died. Nothing works. For the heck of it I hooked up the castle link and it is fine. I am wondering if it is the on off switch, and will hard wiring it void the warranty. I really do not want to open it to see if it is just a simple wire fix and have the warranty voided. Not sure what to do other than call castle. I think it is the switch though.

Then only thing that will void the warranty is soldering directly to the board, so switch modification is fine.

Not the switch. Removed the mmm, put my old mm with a bec on and everything works. Guess castle get another v3 back. Breaking the stock chassis on the e maxx left me with a esc to rob for now. Have to strip it anyway.Things could be worse. Also temps were mmm 76, neu 1515/1y 92, 2 neuenergy 4900s 90 after 10 min on a baseball field. Geared 15/52. 35f outside at the time

Check the battery connectors. I have had the come undone and not be really noticeable before.

I unplugged everything an plugged it all back in.Hooked up castle link and updated it for the heck of it. Hard wired the switch. Nothing. Plugged the old mm in and it came to life. The reciever and servo were not hurt as I have I read some have been.I can run the crt on the mm for now. How long is castles turn around time, I plan on mailing it today. I also have an old mm to send back to see if it can be repaired. It is an original mm, a LOT of use on it.

The other day I hooked the v3 up and it armed. I put it back in the truck and ran 2 4s neuenergy 4900s. Temps for both runs were in the mid 70s. It was 40 outside today here. It ran perfectly. I have no clue. Must have got lucky. My v2 also has a few runs on it with no issues. I talked to castle today about my mm and they said send it in and they would replace it for $50.00, and send the v2 for a free case upgrade. I think that is SUPER customer service. I've had the mm since it came out! I just wanted to see if it could even be fixxed. Did not expect the $50.00 swap. Thanks castle!!!
