My xt8 2cents :)

Hi there.

I just want to share few pictures of my fresh conversion. After trying out e-revo with lots of hop-ups, I've decided it's time to take this to new level.
I chose xt8, because I loved my 1:10 xray touring car and there wasn't any real reason to go different way. I got used one quite cheap, with lot of spares and if it will be as good as I hope, I will probably buy a new 2009 spec later...

I used rc-monster motor mount - incredibly easy to use, feels really really strong. I used rc-monster battery tray, which wasn't that easy to install and I had to drill'n'cut it to fit perfectly, used original holes that hold mud guard and now it holds perfectly in the place.

I went for tekin rx8 combo, since it's new and shiny and I like new and shiny stuff :) 2000kv, plan is to go with 4s, no bashing only track (using 12t pinion, we will see later if this is ok)

I driven it for like 5mins before realizing that water behind some jump could be painfull and went home (I dipped myself into mud, truggy had just wing in it... I will find picture of how I looked later), so I really don't know how good it is, but I can tell already that It's WAY better than revo.

Well here are some pictures, sorry for nudity, body is typical nitroone, burned and drilled and looking awful...







I couldn't deside if I want to have most of the weight in the middle of car, or as low as possible and spread all over the chassis. In the end I placed everything as low as possible and we will see if it was the right choice.
Also antenna is ... ehm.... not perfectly placed (it's on front top plate) it's DSM and working great, greatly guarded from any damage, do you think it can be a problem?

Nice. The XRAY stuff is fantastic quality and super durable. I bash my XT8 hard and the only problem I have had is the body mounts breaking but I did the screw mod now. I usually use receiver boxes for my offroad cars, and fix the aerial to it. How are you finding the RX8 combo? If your concerned about weight balance, have a look at my set up where I have placed the motor on the front for a 2 x 2S layout.
