help with this kit - 05.30.2009, 12:07 PM

What is the down fall of this kit can i use any motors i want just stating out and need help

This is the Tekno RC V3 Brushless Kit with 36mm motor mount for Team Losi 8ight-T truggy. Not just another 'conversion', the Tekno RC V3 Brushless Kit is a total electric transformation! Featuring the first commercially available 1/8th scale electric specific chassis along with Tekno RC's innovative patent pending Elektri-Clutch system. Our hardened steel clutchbells will last and last because the motor is disengaged from the drivetrain off power. For those that prefer direct drive, our kits are compatible with long shank 5mm bore mod1 pinions as well. More options and flexibility than any other kit on the market. This is the kit everyone has been waiting for: 69.99

PM RyuJames about this kit. He has it and loves it.

He might stumble upon this thread, but if you PM him, I'm sure he'd be happy to offer his thoughts on the matter.

Welcome to RCM!

I've got it on order - that's about all I can tell you right now. From what I've read, the biggest downfall is if you choose direct drive (ie., eliminate the clutch), you are stuck using long shank pinions.

Losi 8T 1.0, Savage Flux - XL style, LST XXL, Muggy, 3.3 E-Revo Conversion and sitting outside 425hp, 831 Tq Dodge Ram Turbo Diesel. It SMOKES

Decide what motor you want before choosing the kit. The 36mm motor mount won't fit motors like neu 1515's, hacker C50's, castle neu's, tekin's 1/8th motors and a few others.
The 44mm mount should fit any commonly used 1/8th motor.
