Binding a SR3000 receiver with one hand a plugging in the batt with the other. - 06.09.2009, 04:45 PM

Can't remember which thread it was but it was mentioned what a pain it was to hold down the bind button the the receiver while plugging in the battery pack. Mainly due to the lack of a switch on the esc (MM not to mention and names). I went throught that frustration also.

One day I had to bind one and wasn't really thinkng about it. Plugged the battery pack in everything whistled, beeped, whirred (?) or wooshed. I then push the bind button down on the receiver and held it there until it started flashing. Pushed the bind on the DX3R and it was magic. No more frustration of holding a screw driver in your teeth to push and hold the button down while you plugged in the deans plugs that are right by your ear. Fear of the spark catching you sideburns on fire. At my age I would have to include the wild ear hairs that have been showing up. Definatly makes a large popping noise that close your ear. lol

Anyways, I meant to tell a few other about the revelation. I know a few of you are going to chime in a say you already knew that. Well why the hell didn't you tell the rest of us then?

I really have no idea until now that there was a procedure. I just did what was natural (whatever I felt like) until it worked. I used to hold down the button on the m11 module then turn the radio on, then hold down the little button on the rx and switch the esc on. Or if you have a few receivers to do at a time, a rx pack and switch come in handy, plus you can do it at the comfort of your desk, toilet, wherever you find the most convenient...

I get those looks when I bring food in as well. Hell I'll be there a little while, bring a snack, eat and process at the same time.

But I can't say that I've had a problem binding either. Switches are the way to go...

First place I look for a missing manual is in the study. No sense in just sitting there when you could be accomplishing something useful or expanding you knowledge of the tower hobbies catalog. If i got to sit down may as well sort the the misc nuts and bolts I throw into an old silverware tray. I am sure if any lady saw it in there it would be black listed forever along with any coffee cups. I can get carried away though and before I know it my damn legs are falling to asleep! Anyone know it the padded seat helps increase the amount of time you have before the legs go to sleep. Been looking into a padded seat, the kind that makes taking a leak with the seat up damn near impossible cuz it's so thick with padding it keep falling back down.

Padded seat is the way to go. I usually take the bible in with me, only book long enough that i will not finish before the job is done. Sandwich and a glass of water is also a good idea, and a cell phone just in case.

A little off-topic (and maybe off-color), but sitting on the throne for long periods of time, enough for your legs to fall asleep, will eventually necessitate the need for preperation-H in the future. Just a FYI...
